1100 aluminum is the most commercially pure alloy of all the aluminum grades， Composed of 99% aluminum and 0.12% copper. 1100 aluminum coil and 1100 aluminum sheet are both available for various applications including chemical storage and processing equipemtn. Benefits of 1100 aluminum coil & sheet include a 99% or greater content of aluminum compared to other grades of aluminum. 1100 is a low strength aluminum alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. This grade is best used for welding, brazing and soldering but has poor machinability. 1100 aluminum has great finishing capabilities so it is a great choice for decorative purposes.
It is soft, ductile, and has excellent workability which makes it ideal for projects requiring challenging forming operations. It work-hardens slowly, and is not heat-treatable. It has excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, and is most often used in the food processing and chemical industries. Al 1100 is noted for having the highest thermal conductivity of any aluminum, and is also known for its high electrical conductivity.
1100-H14 Aluminum Sheet is known for its superior corrosion resistance, formability, conductivity and high weldability.
It is not often used as a high strength or hardness item like the 2024 alloy; rather it is used for chemical equipment, decorative trim and heat exchangers. It is nonmagnetic and not heat treatable.
Aluminum alloy 1100 is a soft Aluminum, non-heat-treatable and low strength alloy that offers strong corrosion resistance.
