Aluminum diamond plate, sometimes called aluminum tread plate, aluminum floor plate, or aluminum checker plate, is available in 6061-T6 and 3003-H14 sizes.
Tread plate is available in 3003 with the typical H22/24 temper where welding is readily accomplished. For the highest strength applications, Tread plate is stocked in 6061, frequently heat treated and aged to T6 temper.
The 6061-T6 alloy has a dull mill finish and is harder and more durable, and the 3003-H14 has shiny bright finish, and is softer and more formable. Aluminum tread plate is commonly seen on fire trucks and truck toolboxes.
Commonly referred to as "Diamond" due to its raised diamond-shaped pattern, tread plate exhibits strength, durability, ease of welding, corrosion resistance and skid resistance.
Strength, skid resistance, and durability are the primary selling points of this product. Although its mill finish is not as flashy as 3003 grade, 6061 Aluminum Diamond Plate is widely used for industrial applications - flooring, loading ramps, trench covers, dock flooring, stair treads, elevator floors, freezers floors, etc. Offering increased strength and corrosion resistance, 6061 Aluminum Diamond Plate, is easy to weld and machine, but has limited formability.
The brilliant shine of Aluminum Diamond Plate adds sparkle, along with durability. AKA: Aluminum Diamond Plate, Aluminum Tread Plate, Tread Bright, Aluminum Floor Plate, this highly reflective, economical product is widely used in decorative, cosmetic and architectural applications.
